Peer Coaching for Literacy

Synopsis

This course is designed to help teams in buildings and districts design and implement a peer coaching program with an emphasis on high-quality literacy instruction. The course should be completed individually by each member of a team followed by a facilitated team planning conversation based on learning from the course.

Course Overview

This course is designed to provide an overview of a high-quality peer coaching program for literacy, outline the necessary conditions for success, and provide individuals and teams the opportunity to think deeply about how to implement high-quality peer coaching at their school. The course contains nine sections and is closely aligned to Ohio's Model for Peer Coaching for Professional Learning Handbook. You will read each section of the handbook before completing the aligning section of the course. Content, activities and reflections throughout the course are designed to reinforce and expand on Handbook content.  The course should be completed individually with an option for a facilitated team discussion after everyone has completed the course.
