Synopsis

This course will acclimate educators to the importance of career advising, its implications within the Ohio Revised Code, and the required eight components of Ohio's policy on career advising.

The course contains 7 modules:

Module 1: Career Connections Overview

Module 2: Foundations of Career Advising

Module 3: Career Awareness

Module 4: Career Exploration 

Module 5: Career Planning

Module 6: Final Steps

Module 7: Course Reflection & Evaluation

Participants will be able to:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of what Career Advising is, and it's application across Ohio's K-12 landscape through the Career Connections Framework.
  • Identify and understand the requirements of career advising found in the Ohio Revised Code.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of career awareness, exploration, and planning within career advising.
