The first module will introduce participants aspects of military life and Ohio’s military footprint. The second module shares information on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. It is a set of state laws passed by all 50 states and the District of Columbia, that lowers educational barriers for military-connected students. The third module provides strategies and resources to serve military-connected students. 

The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. Completing this training course is one of the requirements to earn the award. Detailed information about the award is listed on the Purple Star Designation webpage.
