By the end of the course, participants will engage in activities related to analyzing assessments, involving the following competencies: Going beyond right and wrong: Error analysis Looking for Patterns across Time Using Data to Modify Future Lessons

Course Overview

In this course, you will analyze student learning at the individual level and progress over time. Specifically, the course will focus on target students over multiple lessons within a unit to refine both individual student analysis as well as looking for patterns among performance over time. This course aligns to the following Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession:

Note: This course is part of the Focused Mentoring Program consisting of Focused Mentoring 1, Focused Mentoring 2 and Instructional Mentoring. 


Focused Mentoring 1 targets communication, collaboration and professional growth. Focused Mentoring 2 targets use of student formative and summative assessment in year 2. This program is designed to engage the mentor and resident educator and result in improved instructional practice.
