EDCITE: Evaluating Digital Content for Instructional and Teaching Excellence
Synopsis
The "EDCITE: Evaluating Digital Content for Instructional and Teaching Excellence" program provides professional development courses focused on aligning and evaluating digital content for instructional use.
Program Overview
The EDCITE: Evaluating Digital Content for Instructional and Teaching Excellence Straight A grant was awarded in 2014. This consortium was led by Westerville City School District and involved teachers and administrators from Buckeye Valley Local School District, Fairbanks Local School District, Licking Heights Local School District, South-Western City School District and included a partnership with The Ohio State University.
One of the components of the EDCITE grant emphasized providing professional development (PD) for teachers in their areas of content expertise. These PD experiences focused on aligning digital content to Ohio’s Learning Standards and evaluating the Content Quality, Technology Use, and Pedagogy of a resource. After the teachers in the five districts piloted the original professional development sessions, their feedback was incorporated as the modules were revised and converted into online, asynchronous modules.
